Pebble Pathways – Inclusive Neurodivergent Support in Scotland
About Our Communication groups
Our professionally led communication groups are designed to support children in developing authentic, meaningful ways to express themselves. Set in a calm environment, each session offers a structured yet flexible space where children can practise communication in ways that feel safe, respectful, and suited to their individual needs. With the guidance of experienced practitioners, children are supported in building their confidence, understanding, and voice.
We focus on functional, real-world communication. This might include expressing needs, asking questions, using AAC, or understanding others. Using visual supports, modelling, and evidence-based strategies, we create predictability that reduces anxiety and encourages engagement. Children are supported at their own pace, with attention to both expressive and receptive communication.
These groups also provide rich opportunities for emotional growth. As children experience success in communication, they often show increased self-esteem, reduced frustration, and greater ease in social situations. Learning to communicate effectively supports emotional regulation and encourages independence.
Families are an essential part of this process. We offer simple tools and ideas that parents can use at home to strengthen communication, build connection, and reduce daily stress for the whole family.
